When I Am Gone...
When I am gone,
Remember me as a wildflower
That bloomed somewhere outside your beautifully manicured garden
Unloved.
Unnoticed.
Happily quivering in the autumn winds,
With all her colours
All her fragrance
All her ecstasy
Only to find her dewy petals
Withering, someday, with a smile.
When I am gone,
Remember me as the clouds
Floating aimlessly in your azure sky.
Drenched in hues of red and orange
And golden and purple
Happily playing hide and seek with the lazy red sun...
Weaving a myriad of dreams
Into your evenings
Creating the perfect cradle for your stars and your moons
Only to find herself dissolved into the darkness.
When I am gone,
Remember me as the wind
That caresses your face
Settling on your lips, ephemerally,
Like a butterfly on a flower
And then drifting wherever her heart takes her to.
Aimless..
Unchartered....
Through the mountains and the valleys and the rivers and the seas
Gliding though those deep dark boughs of leaves and flowers
Only to bring back their fragrance to your little world
Making way through your closed doors and windows.
When I am gone
Remember me, for who I was.
A poetry, that was yet to be written....
A song, that was yet to be sung...
Some smiles and some tears, lost somewhere within the depths of oblivion.
Some unspoken words...
Some unread pages....
Probably, as the scent of baked cookies,
Or, old ink stains,
Or, the perfume of wild jasmines that lingers over my neck and wrists.
When I am gone
Remember me as the star that exists invisibly in the daylight,
Glittering even in the darkest of hours, to guide home the lost souls.
That makes wishes come true
Even as she falls apart....
